The children that were once a gleam in their parent’s eye,
Now have their own children with their dreams in the sky.
Months become a year and years become a decade.
And memories of our younger days begin to fade.
Black and white photos, now color in this digital age.
Our history and travels should never leave a blank page.
All the old lessons learned with chalk and the blackboard,
Now done with the best computers that we can afford.
Do you remember the days of dancing to a live band?
Telephones and toll calls, to cell phones in your hand.
So many family and dear friends that we knew,
We have had to bid a fond and tearful adieu
So many features that our parents would think strange.
We have learned to accept in this constant era of change.
