We make plans to celebrate and welcome a New Year,
We remember those we lost who were near and dear.
At the same time, we wonder what the new year will bring?
Will there be new adventures when winter becomes spring?
There should always be more time for family and friends.
Perhaps we can examine old problems through a new lens.
For those wishing for better times, you can join the crowd.
Undoubtedly you kids will be out there making you proud
The New Year will be here before you know it.
