Those NOT in the driver’s seat always know best.
They have no idea that they are being a big pest.
They even give advice to a driverless car.
Good advice or directions really subpar?
Why are you driving in this lane?
Words of wisdom to drive you insane.
Where to turn and what short cuts to take.
If you do it wrong, it’s the driver’s mistake.
Turn on Google maps, plug in the address.
Music to play, now there’s much less stress.

DMV Visit
Visit to the DMV this week to renew my license inspired this verse. On the road for four more years.
Buckle up, time to renew your license to drive.
Got to be done so those on the road can survive
And now you need documents for a REAL ID.
Another reason to go the nearest DMV.
Are your nerves getting to you, taking the road test?
Rules of the road test, how many answers have you guessed?
You have to wait in line just to wait in line.
I wonder, do they do that by design?
What delightful impression you will make,
When friends see the picture you have to take.
Long stressful day, but now there is no regret,
I’m on the road again, all requirements met.
Another book of poems
This week we published Verses That Would Make My Dad Proud. It is available on Amazon with the link noted below. We are also going to have books available at our Annual Craft Fair in Grand Dominion, on Oct. 12.

With Me, Always
I close my eyes and picture you here.
Your endearing and loving spirit is near.
There is that undefined you that sets you apart.
You may be miles away, but you’re always in my heart.
I feel your presence when I least expect it.
Private moments, always have to respect it.
In my mind, your loving face can always appear.
Caring words, and tales of history are in my ear.
I see a familiar walk on the nearby street.
I almost think it’s you that I’m about to greet.
Generations current and those of the past,
Loving memories that I hope will always last.
Shaping Your Thoughts
Your learning may have hit a solid stone wall,
When you hear one sound byte and know it all.
You read a few pages and make up your mind,
Never looking or knowing what else you can find.
Do you share your thoughts or echo what others say?
Not even knowing what total agenda it will display.
So many have beliefs about what the truth will be.
What will really show when we reflect on history?
There are times to listen and times to speak out.
Watching today, many have no clue what it’s all about.
Stomach or Tummy
The plain truth that I can’t escape,
My tummy shape is out of shape.
Part of my chest now rests around my belt.
Yep, my stomach is no longer trim and svelte.
Seeing and touching my toes,
Well, you know how that goes.
A flat stomach declares muscles abound.
Tummy, belly and gut says nice and round.
They can say what you want, I won’t be hurt.
I’ll cover my tummy with a nice loose shirt.
