Dancing With Time

August 10, 2026 by Bill McNulty

Those dance steps slow down as you age

Your dance shoes, no longer center stage

Those swift dance moves of your younger days

Lost memories of all those dancing yesterdays

In the old days, the phrase was “cut a rug”.

They picked up the beat and we jitterbug

Those fancy moves on the dance floor

Long gone, those step aren’t no more.

Thinking about the dance moves we used to make

Now, my knees hurt and my old bones really ache.

Waltz music starts and we still love that slow dance

That slow dance, swayin’ to the music, that’s romance
