Shabbat Poem
The week is ending, the sun is setting, Shabbat is here.
I love sharing our service with those, I hold so dear.
For varied reasons for each of us, we come together to pray.
You look for a line from our Siddur that you have to say,
A prayer for lasting peace, for the whole human race
Or a word for those who have a new resting place.
For me, this is a place where what is and what could be, intersect.
This is a time to close my eyes, dream, and pause to reflect.
Consider what happen this week, did I put forth my best,
But then every day, just living gives us another test.
We come for Shabbat Worship in our community to share
Often with Shabbat peace, there is nothing that can compare.
A prayer chanted with just the right melody.
Remembering what our tradition should be.
That serene feeling is as good as it can get
Our worship service is over and the sun has set
