One month later, time for Homebound four.
What can I write to leave you wanting more?
All the news reports are sounding the same.
All the politics are looking for one to blame.
We watched all the episodes of Last Dance.
For seven, would they have had a chance?
Phone calls to check on friends, far and near.
Humor shared to bring all some good cheer.
Planning another meeting scheduled on Zoom.
Starting the jigsaw puzzle in the other room.
Maybe there’s a new poem with a little rap.
When all else is finished, there’s always a nap.

The Roads We Take
At any age, we can question life’s road.
Choices we make as your travels unfold.
How do you really know which path to take?
Will you be rewarded for the decisions you make?
Can you always map out the journeys of life?
Along the way, can you reduce life’s strife?
Can you walk the streets of life without getting lost?
And if your journey goes astray, what will be the cost?
The Journey of your life will always have some doubt.
But isn’t that what your daily routine is all about?
In Your Hands
So many signs and they are all in your hands.
Some so well known that everyone understands.
Thumbs up when the jobs are done right.
A strong raised fist to exhibit your might.
A touch to your heart to show you care.
A pledge with a little finger pinkie swear.
We all know what that middle finger has to say.
A policeman raises his hand for you to stop and obey.
Baseball, palms down, safe, raised thumb, you’re out.
A veteran’s hand salute, patriotism is never in doubt.
Always a new task for your hands to undertake.
Best of all, greeting a friend with a warm handshake.
What You Think and Say
So many people read the same material and repeat different versions and you wonder if they read the same book. What makes the world go round is everyone’s ability to have differing views on the world we live in. It gets dangerous when you think your version is the only one that can possibly be correct. Now I do what I normally do, a verse to share.
There are always different takes on the world we live in.
Some will always question where their heads have been.
There will always be a tale to tell and then tell again.
Is it fact or fiction leaving us wonder where and when?
Rumors, news, and gossip, do we really know what is fact?
Groundless stories repeated with anyone that you contact.
Facts and figures, ever question if they are manipulated?
And what you read, is it today’s news or very outdated?
And if you want to tell what you know in a brand-new light,
Please, take your time, do your homework, and get it right.
Looking For A Spring Day
While the first day of spring is gone, the weather is not sending the same message. With that thought we offer this verse.
I know you are looking for a spring day.
One where all the rain will just go away.
Where the buds will start blooming on the trees.
Where you want to feel that first warm breeze.
Where you wake to that early morning sunlight.
Where the sun stays longer until it turns to night.
Where nature beckons and you feel spring is in the air.
Where the birds are building their nests with great care.
Where flowers are blooming and lawns starting to green.
Where neighbors are visiting is now the sight to be seen.
The change of seasons and all the adventures it will bring.
Every year, we always welcome the first day of spring.
Thoughts to Share
As we begin another week of staying home because of Covid 19, I wanted to share a few thoughts. First, I hope all are well and staying safe. I appreciate all the comments that are posted on the verses that I post. Listen to people talk or watch the news or a memory comes back and there is always new material to frame a new poem. There are some verses that five or more years old that I reviewed and updated and posted. At the same time, should anyone have a topic to suggest, I am always open for a new challenge to take a new direction.
Here’s to everyone staying safe and being healthy.
