My first post, Sounds of Life

March 21, 2015 by Bill McNulty

This will be my first blog post.  So help me out if I mess something up.

I enjoy creating, reading and sharing my poems.  I have self published some books of poems for donations.   Here is one that I included in “Still a Poet at Heart”.

Sounds of Life

Different sounds often get your attention.
Some noises are  not worth a mention
It will always be a caring mother’s choice
To listen for the soft tones of her child’s voice.
The angry shouts that make you turn your head.
The loud snores that rouse you from your bed.
The whispers of children for a secret they share.
The howling of a storm that is in the air.
A prayer that is chanted with heart felt feeling.
Helps your soul reach a new spiritual ceiling.
Raindrops splattering.
Lightning thundering.
Guitar strumming just the right chord.
Done right and you will never be bored.
Fans cheering for their favorite team.
Water rushing down nature’s stream.
These are the sounds of life that are always on display.
Listen carefully and you may hear them on any given day.
