I Got Nothing

March 30, 2026 by Bill McNulty

Sometimes that mind of mine draws a total blank

Trying but drawing nothing from that memory bank

Maybe some nothing ideas enable you to think

They do their job and disappear in a quick wink

Some nothings should be totally barred.

Nothing wrong with a look and go discard

Now those creative ideas start to take wing

From nothing and now you have something.

Always A Need For Hope

March 23, 2026 by Bill McNulty

There’s always hope in waking to a new day.

Hope, that feeling you always want to stay.

Hopes and dreams can work when they become a plan.

Hope into reality, when you give it everything you can.

Fans always hope for a 7th inning rally and score.

Hope with that acceptance that you need more.

Sometimes, we need hope when there really is none.

The need for hope should simply reside in everyone.

We want hope when no one should try or dare.

Hope should exist in every Shabbat prayer.

Hope and optimism should always have an active role.

Please, let there be a loving positive hope in every soul.

Lyrics With Meaning

March 16, 2026 by Bill McNulty

In every season, there’s a lyric that strikes the right chord.

Some songs you hear again and again and never get bored.

A song with an unexpected meaning heard on the radio.

A lyric that helps the mood when you are feeling low.

Some lyrics so sad you can’t help but shed a tear.

Road trip songs playing to take you far and near.

Pick the holiday and there’s music you love to hear.

Song lines with meaning, always music to your ear.

It still touches your heart when they play your wedding song.

You hear the words of love and can’t help but sing along.

The lyrics and the right voice when you hear them sing.

And now you know all the emotions a song can bring.

Poker Face

March 9, 2026 by Bill McNulty

Playing cards and you draw an ace.

No smile and keep that poker face.

No way to tell what cards you may hold.

A poker face gets you Texas Hold ‘em Gold

Watching their faces, are you ready to bet?

Let them wait and watch them really sweat.

Let them wonder how many chips you are in for.

Hold that poker face and you are going to score.

Bets are down, deal and watch the cards fall.

Question for you, did Poker Face take it all???

Dream Lines

March 2, 2026 by Bill McNulty

Is there a dream line from last night to keep

Maybe I should toss them and go back to sleep

What was the dream line I wanted to write about

Now I’s awake, all those lines are in total doubt.

Some dream lines can be challenging and bold.

Others I think about are plain, outdated and old.

Maybe that creative dream line of mine took flight.

Maybe in the morning, keep writing until I get it right.

Another idea, a brainstorm or maybe nothing at all

Soon you will learn if the good stuff gets a curtain call

Aches and Pains

February 23, 2026 by Bill McNulty

Aches and pains, those with achy knees can relate.

Shorter steps, watch your balance, you compensate.

MRI, x-ray, another scan, schedule another test.

Sometimes, you just sit and give your knees a rest.

There’s only so much motion an achy knee permits.

And every day as you age, you learn brand new limits.

Every day, you check the forecast, if it shows rain,

The forecast for your knees, expect a little pain.

CBD cream, pills taken as you prepare to face the day.

Now you treasure the walking days of yesterday.
